Attending Services and Events at Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church

We have four regular weekly events each week: Bible Study, Vespers, Vigil, and Divine Liturgy.

NB: due to much-needed renovations, our services are held at another Woolloongabba venue, as advertised:

either St Paul's Antiochian Orthodox Church on Junction St,

or at the QRCC Hall on Lotus St.

Both venues have ample parking and bathroom facilities.

Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you in these venues!

The 'Divine Liturgy' is the Eucharist service of the Orthodox Church.  This incudes psalms, prayers, the Scripture readings of the day, a sermon, and then other prayers & hymns connected with Communion.  It is our most sacred service - prayerful, sacramental, reverent, and joyous.

Following the Divine Liturgy, we typically share Coffee Hour.
At 11am, we also have Sunday School for our young parishioners (5-9y.o.).  [Clickthrough for more information]

Information for those unable to attend services in person:

Due to renovations at our church, we are no longer able to livestream our services.  We apologise for this change.  We offer three alternatives:

Firstly, we have collated our livestreams from previous years - please see our livestreaming page for more information.

Secondly, there are a number of Orthodox churches in Australia that live stream services.  Some of these include:

  • Good Shepherd Orthodox Mission (Melbourne - Antiochian Archdiocese).  English-language.  Sunday, 10am (AEDT), on YouTube (link).
  • St Nicholas Cathedral (ROCOR, Brisbane).  Slavonic-language services.  Saturday, 5pm, & Sunday, 8:30am (AEST), on YouTube (link).
  • Holy Protection Orthodox Cathedral (ROCOR, Melbourne).  Slavonic & English languages.  Saturday, 6pm, & Sunday, 9am (AEDT), on YouTube (link).
  • Many, many other Orthodox churches around the country on https://orthodoxonline.net.au/, and overseas on http://liveliturgy.com/

Thirdly, an option for those unable to attend in person is to pray the Readers Services in their home. The Typika service is prayed if one is not able to attend a Divine Liturgy.

Lastly, Fr Andrew is available for pastoral support. Please clickthrough to Fr Andrew's page for more information.
